Mets GM Sandy Alderson, speaking generally since the deal with Jose Reyes is not official, weighed in on his potential return during an appearance on Mets Hot Stove on SNY on Thursday night.
"I think what we were looking for is some additional help in the infield positions -- third base, second base, shortstop," Alderson said. "Someone like Jose who could play all of those positions. Somebody who is prepared to take a utility role if that's what was presented. And at the same time, somebody in the clubhouse who brings a lot of energy and enthusiasm to the club.
