This week’s MLB Winter Meetings are meant to get the ball rolling on the offseason. Last year, the big grab by the New York Mets was the historic signing of Juan Soto. What could the Mets possibly do to top that?
The goal isn’t to one-up themselves this year. Focus should be on building around last year’s success of nabbing Soto in addition to improving the places where they came up short. There’s no actual deadline surrounding the MLB Winter Meetings. However, it’s often a time when just about every team with a goal of winning the upcoming year makes some sort of change whether it’s through free agency or a trade.
