OAKLAND, Calif. — As he prepared to interview with the Knicks last April, David Fizdale was embedded with the Warriors as they geared up for their first-round playoff series.
Golden State coach Steve Kerr, who shares a San Diego connection with Fizdale, invited him and his wife, Natasha, to spend a few days around the Warriors. Kerr has lived in San Diego for many years and his son attended Fizdale’s alma mater, the University of San Diego.
“In television [working for TNT], I knew him also,’’ Kerr said Tuesday before his Warriors blitzed Fizdale’s Knicks, 122-95.
