Sources: New York Knicks' Mitchell Robinson to have hand surgery, miss 4-6 weeks

New York Knicks center Mitchell Robinson will undergo surgery on his fractured right hand and is expected to miss four to six weeks, sources tell ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Robinson suffered a fracture of the fourth metacarpal on the hand on Friday night vs. Washington.

Robinson, 22, is averaging 8.4 points, 8.4 rebounds and 1.5 blocks in a career-high 28.8 minutes per game for the Knicks, having firmly entrenched himself as the team's starting center. After Nerlens Noel started in the preseason, Thibodeau made Robinson the starter to begin the season, and he has started all 27 games the Knicks have played en route to a 12-15 record.
