Kadeem Allen watched the Knicks on his nights off and saw situations where he could contribute. He knew he belonged in the NBA. And he knew he only had himself to blame for not being there.
At the start of his second pro season — and first with the Knicks — the 26-year-old arrived to training camp woefully out of shape and failed the team’s conditioning test, earning Allen a trip back to the G-League.
“I knew I wasn’t at an ideal weight,” Allen said last week. “I went home after last season, and I was eating a lot.
