It’s been considered kind of an inevitability over the summer that the Knicks would look to deal Courtney Lee before what’s sure to be a year full of trying out younger players like Mario Hezonja, Damyean Dotson and Allonzo Trier in Lee’s former bench shooting guard role.
Now, there may be some confirmation that the feeling is mutual, and Lee wants to seek greener pastures on a contender for the 2018-19 season. Marc Berman of the New York Post has the report:
According to an NBA source, Lee’s preference if he gets traded is to be dealt to a playoff team or a contender.
