Shortly after the New York Knicks lost a tough 109-103 loss to the Miami Heat, help is on the way.
The Detroit Pistons has agreed to send former NBA MVP Derrick Rose to the New York Knicks in exchange for Dennis Smith Jr. and a 2021 second-round pick (via Charlotte Hornets).
ESPN’s NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski was the first to report the completion of the simmering trade over the weekend.
Rose will be reunited with his Tom Thibodeau, who made him the league’s youngest MVP 10 years ago in Chicago.
This will also provide Rose a chance to make up for his controversy-filled one-season stint with the Knicks in 2016.
