NYK 78, SAS 73: Knicks Victorious in Vegas Opener

The Knicks' Summer League opener was a great success, a 78-73 victory over the San Antonio Spurs that included a hot start, spirited comeback, and solid execution down the stretch to finish the job. Perhaps most importantly, we saw a handful of promising performances from New York's core of young players.

In the highly-anticipated debut for a talented group, Derek Fisher's squad jumped out of the gates, using a frenetic pace to seize an early 13-4 lead. The Spurs would call timeout and regain their composure, and the fans in attendance at UNLV's Thomas and Mack Center were treated to a back-and-forth affair the rest of the way.
