Throughout the first three preseason games of 2017, the New York Knicks have been underwhelming on the defensive end of the floor. The first two games featured reasons for optimism, but the third outing has left the Knicks in a state of early disarray.
In lieu of the 117-83 loss to the Brooklyn Nets, shooting guard Tim Hardaway Jr. has called himself and his teammates out for their performances on defense.
Hardaway has been one of the few bright spots for the Knicks during the polarizing preseason. He’s shooting with efficiency and attacking the rack with an unexpected level of tenacity—nearly enough to offset his defensive woes.
