New York Knicks: Revisiting tampering allegations under Phil Jackson

After an offseason that jumpstarted the second free agency opened on June 30, the NBA created new tampering rules that can fine teams up to $10 million. Reported connections were made to soon-to-be free agents throughout the season, including the New York Knicks’ ties to Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving.

Tampering allegations have also transpired through public instances. Los Angeles Clippers head coach Doc Rivers was fined for comments on Kawhi Leonard weeks before he signed with the team.

The Knicks were once hit with tampering violations.
