New York Knicks: Kadeem Allen’s opportunistic gamble paid off

The New York Knicks found success with their two-way players this season. While Isaiah Hicks mostly sat in the backdrop, Allonzo Trier entered the year with this contractual status and never went to the G League, due to impressing the main roster coaching staff. He arguably became the second most-impressive rookie of New York’s trio.

Then, there was Kadeem Allen. He was a preseason roster cut, but when Trier signed his NBA deal in December, the Knicks handed the Arizona product their open two-way slot, and it paid off once the Kristaps Porzingis trade happened, and roster spots came about.
