New York Knicks: Every executive to lead the front office

While the head coach rules the sidelines, who oversees the front office puts together the players who the head coach manages. The New York Knicks have featured 20 of these leading executives over the decades, including four since 2010.

These personnel figures have led the Knicks through some of the best and worst times in franchise history:

  • Ned Irish: 1946-57
  • Fred Podesta: 1957-60, 1961-65
  • Vince Boryla: 1960-61
  • Eddie Donovan: 1965-70, 1975-82
  • Red Holzman: 1970-75 – The legendary head coach also ruled over personnel decisions for five years.
  • Dave DeBusschere: 1982-86 – DeBusschere moved from playing to leading the front office.
