New York Knicks: Early projections for backcourt depth chart in 2019-20

The 2019 offseason took the New York Knicks down an avenue of revamping the roster. With $70 million to spend, they worked on needs across the 15-man group, including outside shooting and depth at each position.

Of course, this includes the guards, which featured arrivals in the draft and free agency. The Knicks acquired a handful of players who can factor into the 2019-20 season while taking a major role along the way.

What could it do to the guards depth chart? That remains unknown, but with the offseason solidifying, there is enough to assess from the front office’s escapades over the last three weeks:

Starter: Elfrid Payton

Point guard is in flux for the New York Knicks again, and they could have a new starter after Emmanuel Mudiay‘s departure for the Utah Jazz.
