New York Knicks' Derrick Rose out after minor ankle procedure; timeline for return not set

New York Knicks guard Derrick Rose was set to undergo a minor procedure on his right ankle Friday, the team said.

A timeline for his return has not yet been established, according to the Knicks.

There had been optimism that Rose would return for Friday night's game against the Miami Heat, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported last week, after missing two months because of an injury to the ankle.

Rose told reporters on Jan. 30 that he hoped to return "a little after (the) All-Star" break.

Rose, 33, hasn't played since suffering the injury against the Houston Rockets on Dec.
