New York Knicks: Coaching search takes a left turn

Well, the New York Knicks sure know how to bring unexpected intrigue to a coaching search. Along with a list of expected candidates—Jerry Stackhouse, David Fizdale, Mark Jackson—management has sought to speak to an old friend of the team: Mike Woodson.

As first reported by Adrian Wojnarowski, the team received permission to speak to Woodson, a current assistant coach for the Los Angeles Clippers. The report suggests that Woodson isn’t one of the top candidates for New York’s opening, though.

One doesn’t have to look to far in the history books to find Woodson’s chapter as Knicks coach.
