New York Knicks: Carmelo Anthony Talks Pressure On Kristaps Porzingis

You can’t rush perfection. Cliche as that may be, the saying rings true in NBA circles: a player’s full potential can’t be realized if immediate and expedited success is valued over a sustainable impact.

Though Kristaps Porzingis has captured the hearts of New York Knicks fans, Carmelo Anthony fears that the avid supporters may be placing too much pressure on the big man too soon.

Porzingis will one day become the franchise player—a role that he’s publicly embraced. He’s still a 21-year-old kid with just 72 games of NBA experience, however, and that concerns Anthony.

According to Marc Berman of The New York Post, Anthony is encouraging fans to slow down with the expectations and simply let Porzingis develop.
