The New York Knicks have added one of Tom Thibodeau’s former point guards, Aaron Brooks, to their coaching staff, creating a new role — two-way liaison, first reported by Ian Begley of SNY.
With the G League season still in limbo, Brooks’s role will be crucial to developing and integrating the Knicks’ two-way players Jared Harper and Theo Pinson into Thibodeau’s system. Under the new CBA, two-way players are allowed to play 50 regular-season games.
Brooks played for Thibodeau in Chicago and Minnesota. He also played for Kenny Payne, an assistant coach, during his stay at the University of Oregon.
