The New York Knicks have sat in position for a top pick in the 2019 NBA Draft for most of the 2018-19 season. With an 18-game losing streak and few winning streaks, staying competitive was a struggle and thus made them a candidate to select at the top of the order.
New York’s selection will eventually come to light in the draft lottery, which transpires in May, during the NBA postseason.
The lottery leaves nothing guaranteed for the Knicks or the other 13 teams that eventually consume it. Odds are against anyone picking first overall since the highest percentage is 14 percent.
