There have long been rumblings of a second, crappier NBA bubble for loser teams like the New York Knicks to practice and scrimmage against one another. We learned some more information about this Bubble 2 on Thursday — it will take place in Chicago, perhaps in December.
According to ESPN’s Jackie MacMullin, the Knicks weren’t one of the eight teams in a conference call with the league Thursday, because they were busy doing legitimate stuff:
Seven of the eight non-playoff teams participated in a call Thursday with league officials, with the New York Knicks as the lone team without a representative on the call because they were interviewing head-coaching candidates, including Los Angeles Lakers assistant Jason Kidd and San Antonio Spurs assistant Will Hardy, sources told ESPN.
