Kristaps Porzingis could score 50 points in his Knicks debut and it may not top this: sporting cornrows as a kid while growing up in Latvia.
First seen in a picture shown by his former coach, Edvins Sprude, during a video filmed in Latvia, Porzingis said he kept the Allen Iverson look from around 10 to 13.
“I loved the look and the girls loved it,” Porzingis told reporters Thursday.
When the Knicks rookie first started playing basketball, Sprude said he remembers the 6-year-old crying, then complaining to his mother, Ingrida, he didn’t know the rules.
