MILWAUKEE — Knicks forward Mario Hezonja looks at former Knicks executive Clarence Gaines Jr.’s rip job of his defense as just another social-media fan troll.
Gaines is the Knicks’ former vice president of player personnel and former president Phil Jackson’s right-hand man. Jackson and Gaines passed on Hezonja at No. 4 in the 2015 draft to take Kristaps Porzingis.
The former Bulls scout has not hooked on with another team since his Knicks contract was not renewed July 1.
But Gaines been busy on Twitter, and Sunday he ripped Hezonja after he was bypassed by coach David Fizdale in Saturday’s loss to the Celtics.
