Lakers add Michael Beasley to LeBron James’ sidekicks

The Lakers again were tempted to add to LeBron James’ cast of characters.

Los Angeles agreed to a deal with former Knicks forward Michael Beasley on Friday, showing their continued push to assemble a veteran core around James, who signed as a free agent July 1. Beasley reached terms on a one-year, $3.5 million deal with the Lakers, ESPN reported.

Since James announced his move to Hollywood for four years and $154 million, the Lakers have bulldozed through free agency to add playmakers with dominant personalities. Beasley joins point guard Rajon Rondo, center JaVale McGee and forward Lance Stephenson and adds to the questions some have about how the team’s chemistry will hold up.
