Well that was unexpected.
The Knicks held the 19th and 21st picks in tonight’s NBA draft but traded both: #19 to Charlotte for a future 1st-round pick, #21 to the L.A. Clippers in exchange for L.A.’s #25 pick and a 2024 2nd-rounder belonging to Detroit. With that 25th pick, the Knicks selected Quentin Grimes.
Grimes, a 6’5” guard who disappointed his freshman year at Kansas but found his stride at Houston, hit 40% from deep on high volume (over 8 attempts from 3-point land per game) and is considered a good defender who projects to have success on that end in the pros, too.
