Already eight days removed from firing David Fizdale, the New York Knicks have worked with Mike Miller as their interim head coach. The results have been inconsistent, with not much changing under a questionably designed roster.
In the NBA, permanent replacement for in-season firing usually doesn’t happen. Teams ride it out with their interim coach and wait for the market to develop after the regular season ends. The Knicks did this when Derek Fisher was let go in 2016 as Kurt Rambis coached the final 28 games.
New York might be interested in finding their replacement sooner than later, however, and with household names that will raise fans’ eyebrows.
