The New York Knicks can’t even win on their day off. Kristaps Porzingis missed out on an All-Star starter nod, bested by Mr. I-Don’t-Play-Back-To-Backs himself, Joel Embiid. Apparently NBA players (whose votes counted for 25% of the overall tally) chose Kristaps into the starting 5 over Embiid, but it was not to overcome the fan (50%) and media vote (25%). I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Democracy simply doesn’t work.
Also: Congratulations to those who bet on Ron Baker receiving more All-Star votes than Courtney Lee.
