The New York Knicks have hired long-time Dallas Mavericks advance scout Reggie Johnson, according to a source.
Johnson will serve as pro personnel scout for the Knicks after spending his first 25 years in the league with the Mavericks, including 14 seasons as the team’s advance scout.
Johnson was a former high school basketball and football star in Little Rock, Arkansas. He won a state championship and was named Arkansas State Defensive Player of the Year. He was also an All-Star quarterback and made it to the All-State selection.
Johnson pursued football in college and became a four-year starter with the Southwest Baptist University Bearcats.
