Knicks extend RJ Barrett for $120M, send message to Jazz on Donovan Mitchell

The New York Knicks are making a commitment to RJ Barrett, one that contains nine figures. Barrett, 22, is inking a four-year extension per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. SNY’s Ian Begley added more intel on the structure of Barrett’s deal, which could reach $120 million if he nails his incentives.

Barrett’s extension – which makes him the youngest $100M player in Knicks history at 22 — ends weeks of New York/Utah trade talks on Mitchell, and forces teams to start discussions over with significantly different deal parameters because of the Poison Pill provision.
