Knicks coach Jeff Hornacek said he decided against sending an assistant coach to Los Angeles to conference with point guard Derrick Rose, who has been at his civil sexual assault trial since Oct. 5.
Hornacek said he spoke on the phone with Rose and felt they had a very good conversation.
Hornacek still is not certain whether Rose will return in time for the Knicks’ final two preseason games: Wednesday in Boston and Thursday in Brooklyn. Rose, who played well in the preseason opener against the Rockets, will miss his third straight game Saturday.
