Knicks championship odds seem unlikely after a quiet, and disappointing trade deadline

If your team has championship aspirations, you would like them to use the trade deadline to bolster their chances of hoisting the Larry O’Brien trophy by addressing some weaknesses and improving the roster. The New York Knicks didn’t quite do that. They didn’t go out and acquire a bench piece that would fit their bench scoring or depth issues. They didn’t trade for a bigger and more athletic wing to take Landry Shamet’s underwhelming minutes. And they didn’t find a suitable center that would be a more healthy and reliable big man than Mitchell Robinson. In fact, they did close to nothing, with their only move being an underwhelming Jericho Sims for Delon Wright swap.
