Knicks and Tim Hardaway Jr.: A forced marriage works perfectly

Tim Hardaway Jr. is making his return to Atlanta at the perfect time, emerging from a career-high 38 points, arriving at Philips Arena on Friday with a team that’s the surprise of the NBA at 10-7.

Hardaway felt he made the right choice to leave Atlanta this offseason, and he knows it now. There was early panning of Hardaway’s signing in July, but sometimes you can come back home. And he’s made his home Harlem in his second stint as a Knick.

“I’m thankful to be back here, man,’’ Hardaway said on Thanksgiving Eve after the Knicks staged a historic 41-10 third quarter that included a 28-0 feast to beat the powerhouse Raptors.
