For all the helicopters that tracked Kawhi Leonard’s every move, his free-agency remained a mystery until news broke Saturday morning that he’d be teaming up with Paul George in Clippers land.
Now, details are beginning to trickle out.
A few days before free agency opened on July 30, Leonard called Kevin Durant to see whether Durant had any interest in them joining the Clippers together, according to ESPN.
Durant was stunned by the sudden recruitment as he didn’t know the 28-year-old Leonard that well, but was “flattered,” the outlet wrote.
