Interim coach Mike Miller and his Knicks needed this one. So did Julius Randle.
The Knicks got big moments from their last two lottery picks, RJ Barrett and slumping Kevin Knox, but it was Randle who came up huge late in his first game back after the death of his grandmother as the Knicks stunned the Heat in a Garden afternoon tilt to break a five-game losing streak.
The Knicks rallied from 14 points down in the fourth quarter to beat a club they had fallen behind by 34 points late December.
Randle, after missing the last two games, finished with 26 points.
