The teen who accused former New York Knicks guard J.R. Smith of choking him outside a Meatpacking District hot spot recently met with prosecutors who are probing the incident, sources said.
The Manhattan District Attorney's office is looking into whether Smith, 30, attacked 19-year-old Justin Brown over an insult related to his trade to the Cleveland Cavaliers, sources said.
Prosecutors are evaluating surveillance footage, cellphone recordings, medical records and other evidence to make a determination on whether to bring charges, sources said.
A source who has reviewed footage of the ordeal said that "absolutely no choking" is captured on camera.
