MIAMI — When he bolted for the Heat via a faxed resignation to the Knicks, Pat Riley’s nickname in New York became “Pat The Rat.’’
Seems like the Heat president became “Pat The Rat’’ in Miami, too.
Before the Knicks’ 110-87 loss to the Heat at AmericanAirlines Arena Wednesday, Heat coach Erik Spoelstra and David Fizdale joked about the “rats’’ they had to deal with at the old Miami Arena. Spoelstra and Fizdale, in the late 1990’s, worked together in the Heat video room.
On Tuesday, Fizdale called the old arena “a rat trap.
