On paper, the New York Knicks are incapable of competing for an NBA championship. The roster is certainly better than it was a season ago, and the postseason is a realistic expectation, but the Larry O’Brien Trophy appears to be out of New York’s reach.
That isn’t discouraging Carmelo Anthony from relentlessly supporting his team.
Anthony has gone on record as saying the Knicks will compete for a championship in 2015-16. Nevertheless, many of his critics have maintained the belief that he signed in New York for the money instead of the chance to win a title.
