On Wednesday night, while the Knicks settled into their hotel rooms in Detroit and prepared for a crucial Game 3, TNT revealed the winner of the NBA’s Clutch Player of the Year.
The award, in its third season, is awarded to the player who performs the best in “clutch” scenarios, which are defined as being in the final five minutes of the game and a margin of five points or less.
Jalen Brunson, who will almost certainly add a second All-NBA nod to his resume in the coming weeks, was the lone Knicks finalist for a major league award.
