2023-24 Game Thread Knicks vs. Pistons: Everyone Gets to Play Less Than 40 Minutes Opener, hopefully

The Knicks host the Detroit Pistons in a game that is obviously not an automatic win, as the Pistons have won 12 games this year, and the Knicks continue to play without Julius Randle, OG Anunoby and Mitchell Robinson, but, at the same time, I mean, come on, people.

This is the second game of four games in a row where the Knicks absolutely have to win if they are going to finish in the #3 seed this year, which I have always felt that they had a really good chance of doing so still, as luckily for them, as banged up as the Knicks have been, most of the teams in the East have also been banged up, and those teams don’t have Thibs keeping their teams together when they lose their stars, so the Cavaliers, for instance, are a mockery of a sham without Donovan Mitchell (the Sixers without Embiid is a different situation, no one could get that team playing well).
