The 3 Best Trade Possibilities For The New York Knicks

The New York Knicks are currently riding a double-digit losing streak to the very bottom of the NBA standings, so it's no surprise that president Phil Jackson has been keeping 2015 free agency (and the NBA Draft) in mind with the trades he's already pulled off.

What else should the Knicks get done before the February trade deadline? Who could be on their way out of town? Find out as we take a look at The 3 Best Trade Possibilities For The New York Knicks.

Jose Calderon to Houston for Jason Terry & a second-round pick

Terry's $5.45 million salary for 2014-15 will be off the books after the season, giving the Knicks even more leeway to play with when targeting top-tier free agents this coming July. Yes, New York will have to take Terry's less-than-stellar 2/1.2 assist/turnover ratio in the short term. But, in the long run they procure a pick, some cap space (Calderon has one more year at $7.7 million on his current deal), and a veteran injection which could help along some of the youth who remain in the team's plans after the campaign.

Andrea Bargnani for...anyone

Let's be real here. If the Knicks can get a bag of rocks and a subscription to Cat Fancy out of the last year of Bargnani's five-year, $50 million contract, they'd do it in a heartbeat. His value is minute at this juncture, so he'd likely only pick up a return from a team looking for salary filler. Add in the fact that Amar'e Stoudemire might be willing to re-sign at a reduced rate after the season, and the end of Bargnani's time in the Big Apple could be drawing near.

Jose Calderon and a future second-rounder to Sacramento for Derrick Williams

1) The Knicks need shooting, and Williams can provide that when he's motivated. 2) He's a buy-low prospect who could very well hit his stride later in his career. 3) If he has a promising, but underwhelming stay in NY, the Knicks will have leverage to re-sign him on a cost-effective deal.

The future second-rounder might be a scare card, but the salary relief (roughly $8.3 million off the books after the season) and the off chance of a breakthrough make this an interesting deal to look into.
