Knicks Rumors: New York Is Actively Trying To Unload Jose Calderon's Contract

The New York Knicks are actively trying to unload point guard Jose Calderon’s contract, according to Yahoo Sports' Marc Spears.

Calderon is owed $7.4 million in 2015-16, and $7.7 million in 2016-17, which is especially costly for the Knicks. They don't see Calderon as part of their long-term rebuilding plan, and are hoping to create more cap room to attract high profile free agents.

He is a veteran point guard that could help a contending team, but no one has expressed serious interest in him yet.
