Knicks Rumors: J.R. Smith Says New York's Offense Has "Too Much Thinking"

The New York Knicks have floundered to the worst start in the NBA with a 5-32 record, and seemed to be fully committed to tanking the rest of the season after trading shooting guards J.R. Smith and Iman Shumpert to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

New York brought in legendary coach Phil Jackson to be the President of Basketball Operations and he signed his former point guard, Derek Fisher, to be the team's head coach with the intention of running the Triangle offense. Even though Jackson had success with the offense with the Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Lakers, it hasn't worked for the Knicks.

“It’s almost too much thinking,’’ Smith told The New York Post, as he went on to elaborate about the culture within the Knicks organization.

“Everybody in the building was pretty much walking on eggshells so it was kind of hard to prosper in that way, especially when you are not accustomed to it, but eventually I’m sure they’ll get it right.’’
