Knicks News: Iman Shumpert Says Finger-Pointing Was A Problem Under Mike Woodson

The New York Knicks are having a tough go of it to start the 2014-15 NBA season, but they are at least banding together in the face of adversity.

According to holdover guard Iman Shumpert, the Knicks were besieged by people attempting to place blame under then-head coach Mike Woodson during the 2013-14 campaign.

“I definitely know. I know (finger-pointing) was a problem last year,” Shumpert said, via Peter Botte of the New York Daily News. “This year, like I said, it’s a confidence in the system, it’s a confidence in one another. I think everybody trusted that once we came to training camp, we could see that everybody worked their ass off this summer."

With new head coach Derek Fisher and president Phil Jackson firmly entrenching themselves in their new roles, times are changing at MSG even with the losses piling up.

“The new guys that came along, we could tell that they were ready to turn something around and to do something special," Shumpert said. "Even though we’ve lost some tough ones early on, nobody in here seems defeated, everybody’s ready to go.”
