Knicks News: Carmelo Anthony denies rumors that he'd waive his no-trade clause

New York Knicks superstar Carmelo Anthony came out this past week and labeled a published report that he'd be willing to waive his no-trade clause as patently false.

"Come on, man," Anthony said on Friday morning, via Ian Begley of ESPN New York. "After all the work I did to get here and get back here? If I was to get up and want to leave now that would just make me weak, make me have a weak mind. I've never been a person to try to run from any adversity or anything like that so I'm not going to pick today to do that."

Anthony's agent, Leon Rose, confirmed Anthony's position in a text message sent to ESPN New York on Friday.

"Carmelo, as always, is committed to the Knicks," the text read. "There have never been discussions about trades or wanting to leave New York. Any story, rumor, report to the contrary is utter nonsense."

Despite the New York Knicks' current struggles, it appears Anthony is willing to be part of the long-term solution at Madison Square Garden.

"I guess when you are losing games everything gets questioned," Anthony said. "That's the state where we're at as a team, that's the state where we're at as individuals. But it comes with territory."
