3 Players The New York Knicks Can Still Sign In Free Agency

The New York Knicks had been relatively quiet in NBA Free Agency until they signed Tim Hardaway Jr. to a monster four-year deal. They had to renounce Derrick Rose's cap hold to do so, meaning they won't re-sign him, and don't have the cap space to make another big splash. As such, who could they still sign? Here are three options:

1) Rajon Rondo

The Knicks are still looking for a veteran point guard that help them bring rookie point guard Frank Ntilikina along slowly, and Rondo could provide some veteran leadership at point guard while serving as a mentor for the 18-year-old Frenchman. Rondo averaged 7.8 points, 6.7 assists and 5.1 rebounds per game last season.

2) Tony Allen

The Sacramento Kings have made it a point this offseason to sign veteran players to help bring their young players along, and this would be a similar signing. The 35-year-old would help the Knicks add backcourt depth while giving them a defensive stopper on the perimeter. But, most importantly, Allen would be the veteran leader this team really needs - especially if they move on from Carmelo Anthony. He averaged 9.1 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game last season for the Memphis Grizzlies.

3) Jonathon Simmons

New York has shown interest in Simmons, but with a $9 million offer from the Spurs already, it's going to take a more lucrative deal to lure him away. The Knicks won't be able to afford that unless they shed some salary, which will most likely only happen if they part ways with Carmelo Anthony.

Simmons averaged 6.2 points per game in 17.8 minutes per game off the bench this year but thrived in the playoffs - especially when Kawhi Leonard was injured - averaging 10.5 points in 20.4 minutes per game.
