3 Knicks NBA Draft Rumors You Need To Know

The 2015 NBA Draft is just under three weeks away, which means it's time to separate the fiction from the fact when it comes to the New York Knicks' #4 pick. Here's our list of 3 Knicks NBA Draft Rumors You Need To Know.

New York Targeting Trey Lyles?

His former Kentucky Wildcats teammate Karl-Anthony Towns may be getting all the publicity, but Trey Lyles has caught the attention of several teams at the top of the 2015 NBA Draft, including the New York Knicks.

Here’s Kyle Williams of The Courier-Journal with the report:

According to a report from Frank Isola of the New York Daily News, the New York Knicks “for months have been enamored with Trey Lyles,” and Knicks President Phil Jackson believes the 6-10 power forward could serve as a solid fit for the triangle offense.

The Knicks, who entered this year’s draft lottery with the second-best shot of landing the No. 1 overall pick, fell to fourth in the order. Jackson could certainly take a chance on Lyles with the No. 4 overall pick if Towns, Duke’s Jahlil Okafor or Ohio State product and Louisville native D’Angelo Russell are selected.

Knicks To Work Out Willie Cauley-Stein, Intrigued?

If not Lyles, the Knicks may look to another of Lyles' teammates as a potential option with Willie Cauley-Stein set to work out for the team on June 16th.

According to ESPN New York's Ian Begley, "league sources say the Knicks are intrigued by Cauley-Stein due to the center’s ability to alter a game on the defensive end."

Cauley-Stein is currently projected by most analysts to fall outside of the top four. However, if Russell, Okafor and Towns are all off the board, the Knicks could conceivably choose Cauley-Stein over Lyles in hopes of solidfying their restricted-area defense for years to come.

Knicks Examining Justise Winslow "Closely"

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports, "Duke’s Justise Winslow will work out for the Knicks on Monday, league sources tell Yahoo. New York is examining him closely at No. 4."

However, with international point guard sensation Emmanuel Mudiay also scheduled to work out this week, along with the team's interest in all of the aforementioned names mentioned above, nothing is concrete right now with time ticking down until the draft.
