3 Free Agents The Knicks Must Try To Land This Offseason

The New York Knicks are winding down the stretch run of one of the most trying NBA season in the history of the franchise. However, the Knicks will have an opportunity to put the negativity of this season behind them come free agency this July if Phil Jackson and company can woo an impact name to play alongside Melo at MSG. Who should the Lakers target? Here's our list of the 3 Free Agents The Knicks Must Try To Land This Offseason.

C Greg Monroe

If they can't get an audience with Memphis Grizzlies free agent Marc Gasol (most pundits expect Gasol to choose between Memphis/LA), going younger with Greg Monroe wouldn't be a bad consolation prize in the least. Monroe is likely the one first- or second-tier big men that the Knicks could conceivably be a favorite for, and his evolving offensive arsenal and bruising work in the low post would be a perfect building block for the Knicks to work with going forward.

F Paul Millsap

Millsap would be a dream complement for Carmelo Anthony in the front court, as he possesses true two-way talent and an underrated motor. He's averaging a quiet 17 points and 8 rebounds for the Eastern Conference-leading Atlanta Hawks, and his deft shooting touch and impressive versatility makes him a prime target for the Knicks as they continue forward in the triangle offense.

F Tobias Harris

Harris will be a restricted free agent this summer, so Orlando can match any offers thrown his way. However, the rebuilding Magic may not be willing to drop $9-10 million per year on a multi-year contract for Harris just yet -- something which the Knicks should really consider offering the 22-year-old. He's one of the hardest-working small forwards in the game, and his two-way ability and preexisting friendship with Carmelo Anthony are all positives for New York. And, to top it all off, he's a native Long Islander. Get him signed, Phil!
