Why Marcus Maye provides Jets hope in depleted secondary

An injury-riddled secondary has forced the Jets to prepare much differently for their upcoming game with the Dolphins.

The defense is expected to be without star safety Jamal Adams and cornerbacks Brian Poole and Arthur Maulet when the Dolphins visit MetLife Stadium this weekend. Adams hasn’t practiced this week due to an ankle sprain he sustained against the Bengals last Sunday and has been labeled as “week-to-week,” while Poole is in the concussion protocol and Maulet has a calf injury.

“I mean, it changes everything for that entire secondary right now with where we’re at,” coach Adam Gase said Thursday.
