With Justin Fields being benched and Tyrod Taylor set to take over as the Jets starting quarterback, it’s worth looking at which offensive players could benefit most from the switch.
WR AD Mitchell: The new arrival had a disastrous debut with three drops from Justin Fields, but with Taylor stepping in, it’s fair to expect better deep ball accuracy and a quarterback who isn’t afraid to throw the ball down the field consistently. Mitchell as WR1 traits and the Jets should look to let him show just how good he can be. The right thing to do moving forward is to have Taylor saturate Mitchell with targets to find out if they’ve already got a quality receiver to start opposite Garrett Wilson next season.
