KANSAS CITY, Mo. — So here’s a question for you: What qualifies as a “Statement Game?”
If you are the Patriots, for instance, hasn’t every game they’ve played this year carried a statement … and won’t every game they play from here on out be a statement? Win at Arizona without Tom Brady. Slaughter previously unbeaten Houston without Jimmy Garoppolo. Take on Rex Ryan with, perhaps, Steve Grogan calling the signals next week. And then Brady returning for his inevitable eight-touchdown return in Cleveland.
That’s more statements than a PR office. That’s more statements than an ATM machine.
