Monday night is Matt Patricia's first game as an NFL head coach, so there's really no tape on how this Lions defense will look with him at the helm. Yes, Darnold and the Jets have been studying some tendencies from Patricia's old Patriots' defenses, but obviously there will be differences. Having to prepare by watching Lions' tape and studying their personnel and also checking Patriots' film for schemes made for some extra work this week for Darnold. And there still has to be some uncertainty as to what, exactly, he'll see. He's going to have to adjust on the fly and adapt to whatever the Lions throw at him.
