After opening the season with an impressive 48-17 win against the Detroit Lions, the New York Jets crashed back down to earth on Sunday. The Jets fell to the Miami Dolphins 20-12 in their home opener at MetLife Stadium. It was a sloppy game all around for Gang Green, bringing their record to 1-1.
Missed opportunities, miscommunication, and penalties all played a factor in the Jets falling short to their AFC East rival. The Jets were down 20-0 at halftime but fought back to make it a one-score game late in the fourth quarter. However, a 3rd and 19 conversion by the Dolphins ultimately put the game away.
